Highlighters That Never Fail Me

Highlighters That Never Fail Me

If there's one thing you should know about me when it comes to makeup it's that I am all about that GLO life! I will invest in highlighters from low end to high end and I will continue to collect them all. You can just call me a highlighter connoisseur. There's just something about applying highlighter to top off your look that will never get old.

Here are some of my faves in my collection from left to right:

  1. MAC's Studio Finish Face Powder in "Gold." It is a loose powder containing 40g of product. It is literally pure gold flecks of shimmer that applies so effortlessly with any fan brush of your choice. This shade is perfect for those with warm undertones! I remember the first time I wore this my co worker could see it from across the sales floor like, "Damn! That highlight!" Get yours at any MAC pro store or search on maccosmetics.com
  2. Artist Couture's Diamond Glow Powder in "Conceited." This is a loose powder that's finely milled containing 6g of product. This is hands down one of my all time favorites that I MUST take with me when traveling because I know this shade will never fail me no matter what look I go for. This has such a beautiful iridescent glow to it that reflects a bit of bronze, gold, and rose gold shimmer. This is not chunky or glittery at all and it applies so effortlessly onto your cheeks with a fan brush. I like to layer this product on depending on how blinding I want the high points of my cheeks to be. A tip I would #Rheacommend is to apply your first layer onto the skin then go in with MACs fix plus spray all over the face, followed by a second layer of this Conceited loose powder right before the spray completely dries. I think every makeup owner should have this shade in their collection no matter what skin tone you are. It is so versatile and I promise that there is no shade like this one! Get yours a$ap at artistcouture.com because they go fast!
  3. Top Shop's Chameleon Highlighter in "Mother Of Pearl." This is a pressed powder containing 3.2g of product. I found this gem at a Top Shop in Chicago Spring of 2016. I've always known that Top Shop had their own cosmetic line but nothing ever really intrigued me until I passed by this amazingly bright highlight. I remember swatching this baby right away and falling in love like, "OK, this is it...I'm only leaving with this and my life will be complete." This highlight reflects the most beautiful iridescent pinky- violet pearl shade that I never thought would compliment my warm/olive skin tone; but booooy this does! I've been rocking this highlight for the past month or so and I've got people complimenting and asking, "What highlight are you wearing?!" A tip I would #Rheacommend for application is to first blend it in with your favorite highlighting brush and then going in with your ring finger after if you wanna be extra like me.  I wish I bought more than one of these bad boys but it's OK because it's still available at topshop.com
  4. Laura Geller's Baked Gelato Swirl in "Gilded Honey." This is a pressed gel- like powder containing 4.5g of product. This will not have a powdery texture at all and it almost melts into the skin after blending and setting your face. The only way I can describe this shade is like a golden- champagne color but more on the gold side. I think this shade would look flattering on most skin tones and out of all Laura Geller's highlighter shades this is the only one I like. I love to top this down the bridge of my nose and cupid's bow. The formula of this baked gelato swirl is like no other and I love to apply this with Anastasia Beverly Hill's highlighting brush #23.
